Who we are
The National Organization Of Exterior Finish System Inspectors has been created due to the overwhelming need to provide accurate non-biased inspections of the exterior thermal and weatherproofing systems of residential and commercial structures.
More and more times home inspectors have been requested to perform comprehensive composite siding inspections. Usually the unsuspecting homeowner is only to be given the reply that it is "a composite siding of unknown origin and properties" then recommending the homeowner to contact a specialist in the exterior finish system inspection field.
In light of all the defective claddings and /or incorrect installation methods, which lead to accelerated deterioration of these products, this organization is here to disseminate information, which is current and accurate. It is our object that this information reach those professionals in the inspection industry already, Those that see the expotential overflow of client base as it relates directly to the number of years and numbers of composite sidings ever manufactured in the last two decades.
We at NEFSI feel this information and the recognition of the inspectors whom possess this knowledge are valuable. Through continuing education and updates NEFSI can be an asset to the inspection profession, the homeowners, the State regulatory agencies, the exterior siding manufacturers and the State and Federal Judiciary Systems that are so backed up with cases involving these products and claimants.
All States recognize the superior quality and high level of proficiency associated with an inspector who is a qualified home inspector from many of the leading National organizations.
Yet, even those organizations are lacking the training that would qualify them as experts in the exterior cladding and finish system inspection area. NEFSI has high regard for any one member and for all the top quality home inspection organizations across the nation.
We would hope that Nefsi members would emulate the dedication every member of those organizations exhibits. Our efforts are to enhance the profiency of our profession in the area of exterior envelope issues.
The group that will be conducting the online education courses are know as "The Recognized Experts in Siding Inspections". Siding Solutions, Inc. have been doing siding inspections for six years and have been a part of the construction trades for over thirty years. Now they wish to impart their knowledge to all the members of NEFSI.
