Two of the most wonderful prople I've ever met manage this Co-Op along with other family members. This farm has been growing coffee for 150 years, only organic and only shade soffee form here. THis area is undoubtably and enchanted land. One can feel one's spirit soar when here at altitudes over 4,000 feet above sea level. The high mountail air is cool and refreshing after an hour and a half drive from town. Then the sun starts to rise Josefina can be seen startinf the fire in the cool stove, constructed of adobe that appears to be growing out of the kitchens dirt floor. Soon the sound of "Whoop-Haaaa" echos through the mountains as Querino rounds up the cows for milking. Personally, I have never tasted better milk than the fresh milk still warm from their sugar cane fed cows. Another family member met on the back roads near Loma.

Tio Pedro is a living legend possessing all the true grit John Wayne wished he had. This man is like no other I've met. Proud beyound words and to the very core of his existence.
The inhabitants of Chaquiahuitl are known for their work ethics, long hours, hard workm and no complaints.

The family Abric-Ayala has been here longer than the Coffee plants and they take great pride in their heritage as Coffee farmers. The family is known throughout the Sierra Manantlan with fourteen children of their own. Josefina and Querino do not hesitate to care for and feed all the shildren of Chanquihuitl when called upon.
